The Chaotic Night Shift

Ah yes… the cane toad.
The creature that hops with confidence but absolutely no charm.

Every night, as the sun sets, the rainforest’s orchestra begins:
crickets, curlews, frogs… and then…

PLOP.

A cane toad appears like an unwanted party guest.

They waddle.
They stare blankly.
They have the self-awareness of a dropped potato.

Kids find them hilarious.
Adults find them mildly alarming.
Dogs must avoid them at all costs.

But somehow — somehow — they’ve become part of the Mission Beach night-time character.
You can’t walk to the bin after dark without one judging your footsteps.

Be kind.
Be cautious.
And if one sits in the middle of your path and refuses to move?
Well… that’s Queensland for you.
